1462 - The Damned Neat Neat Neat 1977

The Damned are an English rock band formed in London in 1976. They were the first punk rock band from the United Kingdom to release an album, to have a record on the UK music charts, and to tour the United States. The Damned later evolved into one of the forerunners of the gothic genre. Original guitarist Brian James wrote most of the songs on their first album, and he seems to have a fondness for Johnny Thunders-type leads mixed with simplistic chord sequences, backed by a rough-and-tumble rhythm section making the band sound a lot tougher and "street" than slicked-up NOFX/Bad Religion-type bands. "Neat Neat Neat" was their second single, released simultaneously with the debut album.
