"Colored Sands" is the fifth full-length album by technical death metal band Gorguts. The album features the band's first recordings with drummer John Longstreth, guitarist Kevin Hufnagel and bassist Colin Marston.
Despite Luc Lemay being the only original member and the sole reason the band reunited, the new additions are amazing and everyone seems right at home in the swirling, abrasive murk that this album creates so masterfully. The title track features an opening of a solemn guitar being plucked gently as another slowly joins in with some melodic embrace of quiet riffs. And the song builds quite fantastically.
