1548 - Judas Priest Blood Red Skies 1988

"Blood Red Skies" is an epic track. After the intro, the drums come in and starts sounding way too electronic. This is overlaid with a calm Halford singing some great lyrics which setup the mood . Finally the heartbeat drum entrance lifts the song out of the acoustic and into the electric. 
The chorus is excellent, and the break in the middle is quite spectacular.

"Defenders of the Faith" is the 9th studio album by British heavy metal band Judas Priest. The album was recorded at Ibiza Sound Studios, Ibiza, Spain. "The Sentinel", an absolute Priest classic, the intro riffs are sinister and easily identifiable on this legendary track.

"Ridin' On The Wind" is a total blazing, speed-of-light experience; it's the precursor to "Freewheel Burning." Halford at his powerful best, Glenn Tipton and K.K. Downing trade off Stratocaster leads that are sharp enough to cut through marble, Ian Hill and Dave Holland make for a formidable rhythm tank thundering away for the two guitar gods to go wild over, rock solid and un-fuck-with-able. Hill is a steady and reliable player who lays it down and makes certain things stay in place.

1024 - Judas Priest Painkiller 1990

Following the poor sales of the album "Ram It Down", which was itself an attempt at reconciling with the public over the perceived sellout, "Turbo", Judas Priest returned to their classic '70s style, while borrowing contemporary speed metal techniques, resulting in their most critically acclaimed album in a decade. The title track "Painkiller" is brilliantly introduced by the powerful drummer Scott Travis, who substituted Dave Holland and did a great job. This incredible six minutes fast-paced song contains ultra high pitch vocals by Rob Halford and a wonderful very long melodic lead guitar by Glenn Tipton.

938 - Judas Priest Hell Bent For Leather 1978

"Killing Machine" is the fifth studio album by British heavy metal band Judas Priest, released in November 1978. The album was Judas Priest's first stab at a "different" sound, and was created at about the same time that the band members adopted their now-famous "leather-and-studs" style. "Killing Machine" was retitled "Hell Bent for Leather" for US release, as the US branch of Columbia/CBS did not like the "murderous implications" of the album title.
This song is very popular amongst fans and has been played live since its release. Contrary to popular opinion, "Hell Bent For Leather" was not used as the Harley song since the idea was born. That song was "Tyrant", and this was used as the song where Rob Halford usually enters the stage using his motorcycle. Around 1982, the band permamently dropped "Tyrant" from its set, and "Hell Bent For Leather" was used as the new Harley song.

845 - Judas Priest Diamonds and Rust 1977

"Sin After Sin" is the third album by the British heavy metal group Judas Priest, released in 1977. It contains "Diamonds and Rust", a song originally composed and sung by Joan Baez.

Judas Priest's 84 album "Defenders Of The Faith" hits it on the head with the three simple words "Metal Maniac Mastermind". You cannot do energetic, brutal, highly explosive and still melodic Heavy Metal any better. An example is this "Rock Hard Ride free".

754 - Judas Priest Tyrant 1976

Judas Priest was founded in 1971 by Ian Hill (bass) and K.K. Downing (guitar) in England. Originally the band should be called just Judas but at this time there already was a band in America with this name. So they just added a Priest at the end.
"Tyrant" sets in with a hard rocking and cool direct profile. The great melodic middle break is followed by a some fantastic split guitar solos and twin harmonies.

650 - Judas Priest Heavy Metal 1988

'Ram It Down' caught Judas Priest in an apparent sense of stylistic confusion as they attempted to rid themselves of the high tech synthesizer approach of 1986's 'Turbo' and return to the traditional metal of their fading glory days. In this hymn 'Heavy Metal' Tipton preps your ears with a Van Halen like intro solo done with a Priest flavour, thereafter Halford's voice greets your ears.

597 - Judas Priest Rocka Rolla 1974

Judas Priest's debut is a raw unpolished classic heavy metal album, a mere proto-incarnation of their true sound. Looking at it that way, as a traditional metal album, it actually comes off quite nicer than if you view it as a Judas Priest album, since it bears only a passing resemblence to the Priest that most are familiar with. Be sure to give this more than just a listen or two, it really has to grow on you. "Rocka Rolla" starts the trend of Priest style story-telling, poetic and very evasive, yet it's very direct here. The music here is also very upbeat and happy sounding.

519 - Judas Priest Screaming for Vengeance 1982

Following the underwritten, erratic "Point of Entry", "Screaming for Vengeance" returned Judas Priest to the top of the metal heap, boasting a much more consistent set of songs. Priest's sound on "Screaming for Vengeance" is undeniably heavy metal. The aggressive title track is a rapid speedsong where Rob shows all his abilities.

354 - Judas Priest Beyond the Realms of Death 1978

"Sad Wings of Destiny" was a giant leap for Judas Priest and has a great sense of drama, "Sin after Sin" is spell-bindingly progressive. "Stained Class" combines the best elements of both those albums and then some more, taking Judas Priest's 70s formula to its most developed, most satisfying form. "Beyond the Realms of Death" is a complete masterpiece and a timeless classic, whether it's the sad, depressing ballad which makes up the verses, the explosion of a chorus with that epic riff or the solo's which actually have that feeling of sorrow with them...

255 - Judas Priest Breaking The Law 1980

"British Steel" was written and recorded in just a few weeks, the band came up a flat-out commercial album that nipped, tucked and tweaked the formula in order to make it palatable for the expanding audience. The degree to which the album took off probably came as a shock to everyone concerned. “Breakin’ The Law” and “Living After Midnight” epitomised the new breed of radio friendly metal, breaking the band at home and significantly in the American market.

162 - Judas Priest Judas Rising 2005

The wicked cover art of the titular "Angel of Retribution" leaps out at you. Done in high class sci-fi style, the metallic angel looks absolutely wicked, and sets the stage, as the cover for "Painkiller" did, for a metal onslaught to follow. "Judas Rising" confirms the initial impressions: The track smokes. With the trademark Judas Priest riffs blazing away Halford dive bombs his vocal chords onto a sea of roiling anger and fury. When he screams the title words "Judas is rising", time travel becomes a reality, and we're taken back to 1992, as if the band never stopped after releasing the heavy metal monster Painkiller the previous year. This record sounds like the logical next step from that one, as it is huge, heavy, and really, really pissed off. The intricate guitar work of the Tipton/Downing duo remains as much a part of Priest's sound today as it ever did in the past.

145 - Judas Priest Locked in 1986

There is a lot of controversy about ‘Turbo’ by Judas Priest. Many Priest fans who prefer the original heavy sound despise it with a passion, but it has also created many new fans who like the new sound that they decided to try. ‘Locked In’ is quite powerful compared to some of the other tracks on the album and it seems to be more like traditional Priest. I like "Turbo", not the best album by the Metal Gods, but it contains good tracks such as this one.

128 - Judas Priest Freewheel Burning 1984

Pulled from "Defenders Of The Faith", Judas Priest's frantic "Freewheel Burning", rides the raging twin guitar attack from the axe wielding duo of KK Downing and Glen Tipton, while Rob Halford pierces the recording with his proud alloy pipes. "Freewheel Burning" starts off the album with unprecedented aggression, pure metal at it's finest and heaviest to date. Complete with energetic leads, memorable lyrics delivered in a profound approach and underlining melody. A brilliant solo, which is interlinked through numerous drum fills. Awesome song.

101 - Judas Priest Dreamer Deceiver 1976

"Sad Wings of Destiny" has to be one of the most influential Metal records in history. After a lackluster debut with "Rocka Rolla", the band changed drummers and redefined their sound from bluesy quasi-psychedelia to molten gothic heavy metal. Judas Priest created a formidible document of powerful songwriting and instrumental skullcrushing.
This song gains its excellency through the deep, melodically riffs and the always great vocals of Rob Halford. Furthermore, the lyrics provide another artistic aspect to the song, very similar to "Stairway to Heaven". Dreamer Deceiver is one the greatest metal ballads ever.

51 - Judas Priest Victim of Changes 1976

Undoubtedly one of the greatest bands of all time, this would have to be my favourite Judas song. Originally formed by guitarist K. K. Downing and bassist Ian Hill, Judas Priest's core line-up consists of Downing, Hill, vocalist Rob Halford and guitarist Glenn Tipton. The epic "Victim Of Changes" combines "Whiskey Woman", a stage classic since the era of the first Judas Priest (Al Atkins' band) and "Red Light Lady" brought by Halford from his previous group, Hiroshima.
