1451 - Testament The Legacy 1990

"Souls Of Black" is the fourth album by thrash metal legends Testament. The band pull off another great ballad "The Legacy". Billys vocals really shine on this one, and the music is great also. Greg Christian's bass lines are pretty solid, as well as Skolnick´s solos.

1144 - Testament First Strike Is Deadly 1987

Early five years after their formation, and well after other bay-area heavy hitters entered the public consciousness, Testament finally released this, their debut album. "First Strike is Deadly" settles into a nice rolling rhythm in the middle third, featuring an almost neo-classical, arpeggio-based solo that makes the song hint at the sound Testament would later develop.

969 - Testament The Henchman Ride 2008

The Bay Area veterans brought enough modern flair to their mid-paced thrash formula to show metalheads that there is still some gas left in the tank. "The Henchman Ride" starts of with a good quality drum intro and killer riffs by Alex follow. Slayer s reminiscences in the riffs and great are the choruses:

806 - Testament The New Order 1988

After their awesome debut, Testament outdid themselves with this album! The riffs are awesome, Chuck Billy roars, yells, and sings his heart out, Alex Skolnik lays down some excellents solos, and the band tear through thrash classics like the title track.

610 - Testament Eerie Inhabitants 1988

Silencing all concerns that Testament might have shot their load on "The Legacy", the band follows with a magical sophomore effort in "The New Order". Continuing on with their tried & true formula of melodic Thrash, they offer up ten more songs of blissful Metal-mastery. Classically-influenced lead guitarist Alex Skolnick's place as one of the greatest (if not the best) shredders to come out of the 80s thrash movement, it can be checked on the awesome "Eerie Inhabitants".

259 - Testament Over the wall 1987

Testament was formed in the San Francisco area in 1983 by guitarist Eric Peterson and his cousin, Derrick Ramirez, also a guitarist, originally using the name Legacy. The band soon recruited bassist Greg Christian, drummer Mike Ronchette, and vocalist Steve Souza. Ramirez was subsequently replaced by young guitar prodigy Alex Skolnick, who had studied under the legendary bay-area guitarist Joe Satriani. Ronchette left shortly after the recording and was replaced by Louie Clemente. Steve Souza subsequently left the band to join Exodus, and suggested that Chuck Billy should replace him on lead vocals. While recording their first album, the band was forced to change their name to Testament (which, according to Maria Ferrero in the May 2007 issue of Revolver, was suggested by Billy Milano of S.O.D.) because "The Legacy" was already trademarked by a jazz band. "The legacy" was their first album, an underground hit, widely considered to be the band's best album, it´s opened by "Over the wall".

79 - Testament Trial by Fire 1988

Not only did Testament not suffer from the infamous sophomore slump on its second album, The New Order, but the band delivered its best offering ever. Order is every bit as brutally forceful as The Legacy, but the songs are even more memorable. Testament's outlook was still far from cheerful.
Testament's history can be divided into the Alex Skolnick years, and everything afterwards. Arguably the best of the thrash guitarists, Skolnick livened up even the most mundane riffs with melodic, precise leads.

33 - Testament Raging Waters 1987

1987, on the zenith of the Thrash Metal wave some bands of the old guard as well as some newcomers released their most groundbreaking albums. The biggest round punch, though, came from Bay Area Thrashers Testament and their debut "The Legacy". With new singer Chuck Billy (while still playing under the banner of Legacy Steve "Zetro" Souza had been on the mic, leaving the band before the recordings to replace Paul Baloff at Exodus) the band with a bang was in everybody's mouths.
"Raging Waters" has a propulsive rhythm which is powered by fast riffs.
