Machine Head's album, "Unto the Locust", is a perfect paradigm of heavy, fast thrash, "Unto the Locust" is brutal in its delivery, yet it never jumps the tracks--the playing remains clean, tight and melodic throughout. The fastest song on the album opens with a classical guitar lick. The song showcases lightning fast tremolo picking and ferocious drumming by Dave McClain. It has a slight metalcore feel to it, and showcases how well all the instruments of the band can work so well together.
