1435 - Sepultura Show Me The Wrath 1986

Sepultura´s first release is a true classic despite the bad production. Probably the best song on "Morbid Visions" is "Show Me The Wrath". Featuring a bona-fide bridge and chorus, this song ranks as the top moment of the album.

1241 - Sepultura Sepulnation 2001

"Nation" brought out yet another era of Sepultura unlike their past work. Back for his second outing with Sepultura, singer Derrick Green shines on this, the band's 9th recording. He screams his head off on opener "Sepulnation".

883 - Sepultura Escape to the Void 1987

"Schizophrenia" contains all the Sepultura’s classics, like the great "Escape To The Void", where a mayhem intro of drums and guitar ends into a big thrash riff. The refrain is so fast, and the guitars always change tempo. Mid-paced riffs, fast parts, raw, schizophrenic solos and a big dose of thrash/death metal.

697 - Sepultura Roots Bloody Roots 1996

Listeners intrigued by the rhythmic innovations and Brazilian influences of "Chaos A.D." were quite pleased by Sepultura's sprawling, frequently brilliant follow-up. True to its title, "Roots" wholeheartedly embraces Sepultura's native Brazilian rhythms, augmenting their music with field recordings of the Xavantes Indians, vocalist/percussionist Carlinhos Brown, and expanded percussion sections.
The album starts off with some sounds of a jungle. This goes on for a few seconds, and then the band comes in with lots of aggression. During the verse there are some pretty cool percussion parts, and the chorus is just Max screaming the song title with a simple but catchy riff in the back.

454 - Sepultura Territory 1993

Sepultura's gradual success had seen them rise to Slayer-like proportions in the thrash world, a process which began with 1989's masterpiece 'Beneath The Remains', which indicated there was life outside of the big four in terms of heaviness and quality control. Sepultura released their 4th album in 1993 titled "Chaos A.D.".
"Territory" definitely kills everybody thanks to Igor Cavalera, a gifted drummer that floods us with a shower of beatings still more powerful. He is the engine of the band that leads his brothers-in-arms all along this tribal and furious farandole.

415 - Sepultura Mass Hypnosis 1989

Mid and late '80s were the best times for thrash metal. Most of bands like Slayer, Metallica or Megadeth recorded their best albums then. Among the best there was a Brazilian band called: Sepultura. "Beneath The Remains" contains one of the fastest and most powerful drums ever. From 1989 until 1991 Igor Cavalera was at his best. He could play more than two hours without a rest. Every single track is filled with brutal drumming. "Inner Self" and "Mass Hypnosis" are probably the best Sepultura tracks ever. Andreas Kisser is also awesome, listen to the guitar melodies.

363 - Sepultura Inner Self 1989

After their two rather extremely chaotic and more Death Metal like records "Morbid Visions" ('86) and "Schizophrenia" ('87), the Brazilian Thrashers of Sepultura released in 1989 a true crusher. On "Beneath The Remains", the guys offer us nine respectively ten (inclusive bonus track) pure Thrash diamonds. One of the unforgettable cuts is "Inner Self".

75 - Sepultura Troops of Doom 1986

Sepultura took the fierceness of Slayer and combined it with some Celtic Frost rhythms. Their first EP was Bestial Devastation, a split with Overdose's album on the flipside. Their first LP was Morbid Visions (1986), which included the moderate hit "Troops of Doom" that attracted the band some attention. Both albums are nowadays regarded as early milestones in the establishment of death metal. After Morbid Visions, Jairo Guedes left the band for another thrash metal venture and Sao Paulo based guitarist Andreas Kisser replaced him. Troops of Doom is probably the most famous song from the beginnings of the band.

48 - Sepultura Dead Embryonic Cells 1991

Sepultura had shocked the death metal world in 1989 with the release of their awesome third album, Beneath the Remains, whose seamless combination of songwriting chops and utter brutality quickly transformed the Brazilians from scene outsiders to one of its brightest hopes. The band would tour nonstop in support of the album for most of the following two years, and was therefore pressured by both time constraints and enormous expectations when the bandmembers finally entered Tampa's Morrisound Studios with producer Scott Burns to record 1991's Arise. First single "Dead Embryonic Cells" was unquestionably the strongest of the band's death metal era, and its accompanying video broke new ground thanks to ample MTV rotation.
