112 - Death Angel Voracious Souls 1987

Bay Area Thrashers Death Angel already formed themselves in 1982. At that time all band members, who are by the way all kin to each other and are originally hailing from the Philippines, are only 11 to 13 years old. The kids rumble down their first demo and get a support for METALLICA whereupon Kirk Hammett produces their second demo “Kill As One”. This helped the band to a record contract with Enigma Records.
In the classic line-up Mark Oseguda (voc.), Rob Cavestany (g.), Gus Pepa (g.), Dennis Pepa (b.) and Andy Galeon (dr.) the first album “The Ultra-Violence” is laid down, which comes out in 1987. A frenzy album, with countless riff changes, speed and aggression. “Voracious Souls”´s chorus is absolutely great, a totally solid cut.
