204 - Jimi Hendrix All Along the Watchtower 1968

Jimi Hendrix was born on November 27, 1942, in Seattle, Washington, USA, widely known as the one of the greatest guitarist of all time. He strove to combine what he called "earth", a blues, jazz, or funk driven rhythm accompaniment, with "space", the high-pitched psychedelic sounds created by his guitar improvisations.
Released as a double album, "Electric Ladyland" is a cross-section of Hendrix's wide range of musical talent. It includes samples of several genres and styles of music. The album features a cover version of Bob Dylan's "All Along the Watchtower" that was widely praised by many, including Dylan himself. The recording of the song was an agonizing process, bassist Noel Redding became dissatisfied with the whole thing and left, Hendrix overdubbed countless guitar tracks and ended up playing the final bass part as well.
