Dickinson's debut with Iron Maiden was 1982's album The Number of the Beast, which is recognised as a classic of the heavy metal genre. "Hallowed be thy name" is one of the greatest songs ever written by anyone, let alone Maiden. The never ending vocals of Dickinson really fit his nickname, The Air Raid Siren. True British metal copied by hundreds of acts but never duplicated, opening slowly but inevitably building in pace until a frenzied finale.
