272 - Deicide Homage to Satan 2006

Deicide was formed in Tampa, Florida in 1987, first playing under the name Carnage. After Glen Benton joined the name was changed to Amon.
Deicide is back after a long hiatus of quality with their eighth album. It is the first album by the band to feature Jack Owen (formerly of Cannibal Corpse) and Ralph Santolla (formerly of Iced Earth) on guitars. The thing that makes "The Stench of Redemption" so unique is that's it's essentially a satanic, brutal melodic death metal album. Songs such as "Homage to Satan", the record'sfirst single, are so intense and heavy yet capture a melodic element that was never present in the band's previous material. The new guitarists have really added a touch of finesse to the raw material which Deicide revel in.
