Faster Pussycat is an American hard rock band from Los Angeles, California formed in 1986, named after the 1965 film "Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill!".
The group was most successful during the late 1980s with their albums "Faster Pussycat" and 1989 gold album "Wake Me When It's Over" that sold 500,000 copies. After the recording of this album, drummer Mark Michals was fired because of heroin possession, and drummer Frankie Banali was hired for a concert tour. Banali did not become a permanent member after the tour, instead he was replaced by drummer Brett Bradshaw. "Poison Ivy" was intended to be the first hit single.
