Michael Schenker is a German hard rock and heavy metal guitarist and former member of UFO and a founding member of Scorpions and the Michael Schenker Group (M.S.G). He is the younger brother of Rudolf Schenker, guitarist with Scorpions.
Plucked from Scorpions to play axe in the legendary Brit Rockers UFO 1974 debuted the mighty "Phenomenon" album that delivered the timeless classic "Doctor Doctor" and "Rock Bottom". Eight years on and still with UFO the seminal live masterpiece "Strangers In The Night" was issued to yet more world wide acclaim but it was to be the last release from this incarnation of UFO. Schenker once again re-joined SCORPIONS releasing the album "Lovedrive" but by this time he was ready to pursue a more solo based career undertaking to form his own band and labelling it MSG. MSG was to prove a successful outing building on his already strong world wide following however fortunes began to dip and by 1980's and the MSG - McAuley Schenker Group - was to see a big change in direction appealing more to the Hair Metal brigade and AOR fans and to be honest ever since then Schenker has been floating around the Rock world wilderness.
A favourite track of MSG is this "Armed and Ready".
