Following his tenure in pioneering German metal band the Scorpions and U.K. hard rockers UFO, guitarist Michael Schenker formed his own band with singer Gary Barden, debuting with 1980's Michael Schenker Group.
Before the recording ‘Assault Attack’ singer Gary Barden and drummer Cozy Powell left the band and were replaced with former Rainbow singer Graham Bonnet and Ted McKenna. ‘Assault Attack’ was the last great album by MSG album thanks to the well balanced mix of songs, strong axe work from the master himself, the intense vocals from Bonnet and the outstanding production by Martin Birch. Schenker artfully deploys his talents on full-bodied hard rock outings such as this "Samurai".
