878 - Autopsy Pagan Saviour 1989

Autopsy was a death metal band, founded in 1987 in the United States by Chris Reifert (formerly of Death). "Severed Survival", Autopsy's first LP, sounded like "Scream Bloody Gore" era Death. The album was very influential for future Death Metal acts such as Cannibal Corpse, Entombed or Dismember. It was also a pioneer of gore lyrics and one of the first examples of the Death/Doom genre.
Autopsy´s haunting melodies and harmonies and bulldozing riffs really came a long way on "Severed Survival" and the deep yet clear guitar sound really aids them in sounding more evil and sinister. "Pagan Saviour" stands among others, for highlights.
