Written by Arthur Crudup. Elvis recorded it July 5, 1954 at Sun Records-his first commercial recording there. It was the first Elvis record played on the radio. Dewey Phillips played it 14 times on his Red, Hot and Blue show and he received 47 telephone calls from listeners when it was played. Elvis interviewed on the program later that evening.
