Praying Mantis are an English rock band. Although a part of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal (NWOBHM) scene, they pursued a musical direction more melodic and AOR-sounding than their contemporaries. Praying Mantis´career can be closely linked with Iron Maiden during those early years as, in addition to both bands appearing on the "Metal For Muthas" compilation released by EMI Records in 1980, they also toured England together. "Panic in the Streets" is a great, nostalgic track.
