Exhorder is an American thrash/groove metal band from New Orleans, Louisiana. They are often credited as the purveyors of the groove-oriented thrash sound later made famous by bands such as Pantera, White Zombie, and Machine Head.
However, Exhorder's first album "Slaughter in the Vatican" was more in the vein of pure thrash. ggression and a genuinely nasty edge can be tasted in the opener "Death in Vain".
