937 - The Doors Light My Fire 1967

"The Doors" is the self-titled debut album by the band The Doors, recorded in 1966 and released in 1967. It features the breakthrough single "Light My Fire", extended with a substantial instrumental section mostly omitted on the single release.
The song originated as a Robby Krieger unfinished composition, which the other band members then expanded upon.
"Light My Fire" was performed by The Doors on a famous appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show September 17, 1967. In an oft-told legend, The Doors were asked to change the lyrics of the song (specifically, the line "girl, we couldn't get much higher"). The producers told Morrison to write a new lyric for the line, but he refused.
