1125 - Necronomicon Cold Ages 1988

Formed in Southern Germany in 1983 by front man Freddy, and then members Axel and Lala, all of whom were musicians active in the punk scene, the band fell under the spell of artists like Motörhead and Metallica, and, leaving behind its punk roots and aided by Freddy’s distinctive vocals, Necronomicon developed a sound all of its own, quickly becoming popular in the underground Thrash Metal scene both not only at home in Germany, but also world-wide. With a better production and a lot tighter approach to songwriting, Necronomicon appears immediately more convincing than ever before in their album "Escalation". "Cold Ages" is one of the standouts.
