1343 - Acrophet When Time Stands Still 1990

Wisconsin band Acrophet obviously grew up listening to the Bay Area thrashers and were highly influenced by the thrash scene of the early 80's. "Faded Glory" from 1990 would prove to be the final Acrophet album and found the band developing their sound with the benefit of experience. Whilst still a long way from what you would describe as refined some of the rough edges have been trimmed away and more diverse elements are introduced. Less intense than its predecessor "Faded Glory" is nevertheless the more worthy of the two albums. And speaking of hardcore, more prevalent than the California crunch is the intrinsic hardcore instinct that is hardened into tracks such as the opening "When Time Stands Still".
