1373 - UFO We Belong To The Night 1982

"Mechanix" is a great album by UFO, despite the loss during the previous few years of guitarist Michael Schenker and guitarist-keyboardist Paul Raymond. Guitarist Paul Chapman is a much more reckless player than the perfectionist Schenker was, adding the Southern rock influence of Molly Hatchet and the Outlaws to the band's sound, while guitarist-keyboardist Neil Carter, making his second album with the band, adds new dimension to their sound. Original bassist Pete Way left after the tour for this album, and as a result, this was their last album to feature much of their signature sound for many years. While "Mechanix" may not live up to the glory of classic albums such as “Lights Out” and “Obsession”, it still contains a good half album’s worth of great songs, such as the furious "We Belong To The Night".
