1386 - Vandenberg Fighting Against the World 1985
Vandenberg was a Dutch hard rock band named after guitarist Ad "Adje" van den Berg (a.k.a. Adrian Vandenberg). The band's third album, "Alibi", was recorded in the Netherlands, produced by Jaap Eggermont, manager of the Golden Earring. The album failed to enter the charts, and not long after, the lead singer, Heerink, left the band.
Dutch guitar wizard Adrian Vandenberg, before he helped make Whitesnake a platinum success, was clearly influenced by bands like The Scorpions and MSG.
"Alibi" is just a terrific example of the mid `80s hard rock sound. It straddled the line between hard-hitting heavy metal and radio-friendly melodic rock perfectly, delivering equal amounts of polish and punch.
One of the highlights is the driving "Fighting Against the World".
