1422 - Amorphis Shades Of Gray 2013

The album "Circle"´s opener, "Shades of Gray" bursts straight into a blistering melodic riff. We're instantly struck off our feet with a classic RAAAIIIIIIII from Joutsen. "Shades of Gray" is a glorious part of Circle that truly does break new ground. The recurring pre-chorus shows Joutsen using higher pitched shriek-vocals, which can thankfully be found throughout the album in tasteful sparseness. The incredible instrumental break beginning at 3:00 is an example of Circle's slightly more progressive tendencies.
