Sabaton are a heavy metal band from Falun, Sweden formed in 1999. The band's main lyrical themes are based on war and historical battles. "Primo Victoria" is about the Operation Neptune, the landing operations of the Allied invasion of Normandy on 6 June 1944 (D-Day). It marked the beginning of the Operation Overlord, which aimed at driving the Germans out of Northern France and building a confirmed base. The Operation Neptune was the largest amphibious invasion of all time. The Words "Primo Victoria" are Latin and mean "the first victory". The rhythm of the music is rather repetitive in the verses, and more or less just continues in the chorus. That’s what makes the music very catchy. Towards the end of the song we get a solo, the riffs begin to sound like an army on the march but without losing that rhythm.
