Coffins is a Japanese doom-death band, formed in 1996, that has scavenged the depths of evil and darkness throughout their decade-plus existence as they slowly work toward a flawless refinement Japan’s Coffins have ascended from cult heroes to death/doom royalty, and ‘The Fleshland’ may just be their best effort yet. Absolutely punishing monolithic riffs combine with disgusting grooves to create one of the heaviest records to ever rise out of the east. ‘Here Comes Perdition’ starts things off nice and slow before breaking into an uptempo rhythmic frenzy that will contrast the doom elements for the 46 minute duration of the album.
