"Have You Seen the Saucers" marked the beginning of a science-fiction theme that Paul Kantner, rhythm guitar and vocals, explored in "Blows Against the Empire", his first solo albums. The first LP that this song appeared on was the compilation "Early Flight". Kaukonen’s wah-wah’d electric ‘chicken’ guitar and soaring vocal harmonies jam briefly with additional percussion, which was perfect for full-blown live extrapolation.
