"Fire Woman" was written by singer Ian Astbury and guitarist Billy Duffy. It was the first single released from their fourth studio album Sonic Temple.
It was a defining album for the band, allowing them to move away from thier metal/goth image and onto a rockier sound. Along with thier other albums and direction, the album is still experimental and keeping that clean and original sound the Cult have had for so many years. The bombastic "Fire Woman" remains a magic classic.
