1459 - Borknagar The Genuine Pulse 2001

After the departure of Simen Hestnaes better known as Vortrex, Ostein G. Brun recruited the able throated Vintersorg; the bass player is Tyr, ex Emperor and Satyricon; Brun himself is a great composer as well as good guitarist, and Lars Nedland aka Lazare is a resouceful piano player. The record, "Empiricism", starts like the Borknagar of old, with a tinkling piano intro that is quickly overwhelmed by blasting drums and howled vocals. But soon Vintersorg´s vocals turn majestic and soar melodically on this "Genuine Pulse".
