1627 - Accept Bound to Fail 1985

“Wolf Hoffmann explained the concept behind the album Metal Heart: "We had read an article that someone was working on an artificial heart and that one day everybody is going to have a computerized heart. It talked, in general terms, about how more and more of humanity gets sucked out of the daily life and more and more replaced by machine. It's not a new thing now, but then it was new. Humans versus machine, was the general vibe of the record." Udo Dirkshneider's distinctive shriek and the guitar duo of Hoffman and Fischer never sounded better than on tracks such as the outstanding Bound to Fail.

1232 Accep The King 1980

I'm a Rebel is the second album by the heavy metal band Accept, recorded in 1979 and released in 1980. It was the first of three consecutive Accept records to utilize Dirk Steffens as producer. The album finds Accept continuing to search for their musical direction, experimenting with a more commercial sound than on the debut. Bassist Peter Baltes once again sings lead vocals on two tracks, the slower-paced songs "No Time To Lose" and this great ballad "The King".

946 - Accept Fast As A Shark 1982

621 - Accept Up To The Limit 1985

With 1985's Metal Heart, German metal institution Accept attempted to add catchier choruses and melodies to their high-octane guitar riffing in a clear ploy to crack the American market. The lightly AC/DC-like “Up To The Limit” doesn´t let the enthusiasm go down.

442 - Accept I'm a Rebel 1980

Coming off a less than stellar first album, Germany's Accept showed a marked improvement with 1980's I'm a Rebel. The production values still leave something to be desired, but both the band's trademark guitar crunch and vocalist Udo Dirkschneider's gravelly shriek are evident for the first time on this album. Their songwriting skills are also evolving rapidly, for instance with the title track (their first bona fide classic). Interesting to watch long-haired Udo.

216 - Accept Metal Heart 1985

“Metal Heart” continues on the legacy left by “Restless and Wild” and “Balls to the Wall”, this album may be more produced than the previous ones but it still is Classic Heavy Metal madness. 1985´s “Metal Heart” was a good follow up to their most successful album to the date (“Balls To The Wall”). The album starts off with the title track “Metal Heart” which is a mid paced outstanding metal anthem, with a crushing verse riff and an arrangement borrowed from Beethoven’s classical composition “For Elisa” in the middle followed by a killer guitar solo.

164 - Accept Princess Of The Dawn 1982

This album by Germany's Accept marked a major turning point in their career. They had released 3 albums up to this point, "Accept", "I'm A Rebel" and "Breaker" but this one, "Restless And Wild" was the first to receive worldwide distribution including North America. The album closer, "Princess Of The Dawn" is an Accept classic that was always a concert favorite. It's not a particularly heavy tune but with the slower hypnotic pace, use of orchestration and awesome vocal delivery by Udo, it creates a mood that's felt throughout the entire song. The ending of this song is truly amazing. Wolf Hoffmann plays a flurry of leads which take on more of a classical music tone to them with the style and use of minor keys, something that the band became known for. On this track Hoffmann fuses Heavy Metal guitar playing with pieces of acoustic playing, which sounds somehow Spanish influenced. This adds yet another unique dimension to the song, and once again shows the creativity of the band. A turn off is, that the album stops so abruptly, as the song is suddenly cut off in the middle of the chorus.

72 - Accept Restless & Wild 1985

Restless & Wild was Accept's fourth album, follow-up to the magnificent Breaker, which more or less defined their style. These two albums are very closely related, being released with only one year in between. This track has one of the coolest riffs in Metal, so ultra heavy and still so easy to get sucked into, simple yet so effective. The vocal performance is a chapter of it's own, with Udo Dirkschneider going from understated soft singing to screamed out craziness in the blink of an eye. His physical vocal range may be limited, but the range of emotions and atmospheres he is able to deliver is astonishing.

2 - Accept Balls to the Wall 1984

This German band originally assembled in the early 1970s by Udo Dirkschneider. The band has played an important role in the development of speed metal and European power metal. This track is really representative, written before the fall of the Wall, "Balls to the Wall" refers to slaves revolting against oppressing masters.
