1102 - Sweet Fox on the Run 1974

Sweet´s first self-written and produced single "Fox on the Run" (1975) also reached number two on the UK charts.
Two versions were recorded by Sweet. The original version was produced by Mike Chapman in association with Nicky Chinn on the 1974 album "Desolation Boulevard". There was also a more pop-oriented and totally re-recorded version self-produced by the band and released as a 7" single in 1975.

1051 - Sweet Love is like Oxygen 1978

"Level Headed" features "Love is Like Oxygen", the band's last original single to hit the top 40 on both sides of the Atlantic, peaking at #8 in the United States and #9 in the UK Singles Chart.
This was the last album to feature the "classic" Sweet line-up of Brian Connolly, Andy Scott, Mick Tucker and Steve Priest. Shortly after its release, Connolly left the band to embark on a solo career. The remaining trio continued as Sweet and delivered three more albums before breaking up in 1982.

558 - Sweet Set Me Free 1974

Sweet (referred to as The Sweet on albums before 1974 and singles before 1975) were a popular 1970s British band.
Although Sweet were largely known for their glam rock image, and several hit singles - many of them being so-called teenage anthems - they also released several albums throughout a ten year career. "Sweet Fanny Adams" is a stadium rock album of monster proportions. Except on its release in 1974, the teenyboppers found it too loud and heavy metal and the serious rock fans still considered Sweet nothing more than a 3rd rate pop band. The opener "Set Me Free" is a rapid-fire rocker that shows off Sweet's vocal strength to its limit.
