144 - Children of Bodom Follow the Reaper 2001

Children of Bodom are from Espoo, Finland, about 10 km from their capital Helsinki, named in reference to one of the most notorious mass-murders in Scandinavian history, the group was originally founded by singer/guitarist Alexi Laiho and drummer Jaska Raatikainen, with subsequent roster additions including guitarist Alexander 'Ale' Kuoppala, bassist Henkka Blacksmith and keyboardist Janne Wirman. Children of Bodom was found at the end of 1997 when their debut album 'Something Wild' was released. Before that the band name was 'Inearthed'.
"Follow the Reaper", while similar to past albums, is different and truly a step up in musicianship. The guitars are definitly more creative, and the second the opening note to this track is played, you are bound to get sucked into the harmonic riffing of the masters of melody.

84- Children Of Bodom Downfall 1999

Children Of Bodom are one of those exciting Metal bands to come out of the Finnish music scene with a full-frontal attack on the senses. They throttle the listener with an interesting brand of Metal that uses a lot of traditional elements, mixed with levels of Thrash and Progressive feels.
Hatebreeder is Children Of Bodom's second album, and was released two years after their debut release, "Something Wild." However, Hatebreeder is considered to be by many a Children Of Bodom fan their best work. That is because it is riddled with Neo-classical passages, great guitar and keyboard melodies, flawless technique and outstanding musicianship. 'Downfall' is a great closer for this album, with good bass intros and interludes.
