1581 - Twisted Sister I Believe in You 1985

"Come Out and Play" is the fourth album by the American heavy metal band Twisted Sister, released by Atlantic Records. Although the album sold more than 1,000,000 copies, earning it platinum album status, the supporting tour was a fiasco, with cancelled dates and low attendances. Drummer A.J. Pero left the band after the tour ended in 1986, contributing to the chaos which eventually led to band's breakup after the release of Love Is For Suckers in late-1987. "I believe in you" makes return to pop metal songs in the beginning of the album. It has again a good chorus and, of course, the magnificent voice of Mr Dee Snider. <

After the success of Stay Hungry, Twisted Sister were faced with the question whether they should continue in a more pop-oriented direction or return to their early heavy metal roots. They tried to do a bit of both. “The Fire Still Burns” is a fascinating waltzing heavy metal song on which the drums play an important part and Dee Snider gives one of his most beautiful performances.

1056 - Twisted Sister The Price 1984

International fame came for Twisted Sister when the band's third LP, "Stay Hungry", hit the stores on May 10, 1984. The album was a little more commercial-sounding than the first two, owing to Tom Werman's production, with powerful ballads such as "The Price", nice memorable chorus and a well done solo.

529 - Twisted Sister Come Out And Play 1985

’Come Out And Play’’ Twisted Sister’s 1985 release is a largely hit and miss affair. Released on the back of ‘84’s hugely successful and mighty ‘’Stay Hungry’’ album, it was to signal the start of the demise of one of America’s hardest working and over the top Heavy Rock bands. Sure the album kicks of with the Warriors inspired ‘’Twisted Sister come out and play’’ resplendent with chinking bottles (watch the film, it’s a cult classic) and crashes into the title track which is arguably the albums stand out track.

Influenced by New York punk bands like the Ramones and Dictators, as well as by traditional heavy metal ensembles, Twisted Sister created brash, simple songs that buzzed with subversive energy. 111 - Twisted Sister We're not gonna take it 1984

Twisted Sister no doubt had a glam-rock image going on, especially the vocalist (Dee Snider), who wore wigs and a nice-load of make-up, but what's often overlooked is the fact that their music had a whole lot more influence from bands such as Judas Priest (evident in their riffs) and Motorhead (their tempos).
Every band has a breakthrough album that launched them to the bigtime. For Twisted Sister it was 1984's Stay Hungry, the band's third studio album, which gained instant success due to MTV. 'We're Not Gonna Take It' comes in with a basic, bass-drum driven drum intro with Dee shouting 'We're not gonna take it! No, we ain't gonna take it!', that bangs its way right into the palm-muted verse. And who can forget the pre-chorus lyrics, with Dee and the gang shouting ' We're right!/Yeah!. We're free! We'll fight! You'll see!'. The chorus, which is highly anthemic, features the same lyrics that Dee was shouting in the beginning, with the guitars taking more of a backseat to the drums and climbing bassline.

71 - Twisted Sister I wanna rock 1984

Twisted Sister labored day in and day out for more than a decade on the New York City club circuit before becoming a household name. When they originally formed in 1972 by guitarist Jay Jay French, the group was a glam cover band in the vein of the New York Dolls. It wasn't until 1976 that wild front man Dee Snider hooked up with the group. It was Dee that become the chief original songwriter and got Twisted Sister going toward their path of rock stardom. "I wanna rock" is one of their anthems.
