Angel Dust mixes the meta-metal of earlier days with the expected puree of other influences, including a cinematic sense of atmosphere. Patton's voice is stronger and downright smooth at many points throughout, the musicians collectively still know their stuff, and the result is twisted entertainment at its finest. "Everything's Ruined" starts off with Roddy Bottum's "Happy" keyboard. Then the drum and bass kicks in. Reminiscent of all those "Nu-Metal" bands out there right now. This is where it came from. And only Faith No More made it sound as good as they did. The song is about a kid growing up to be a fraud.
