Formed in 1967 in Cardiff, Wales, their original line-up consisted of Burke Shelley on bass guitar and vocals, Tony Bourge (guitar, vocals), and Ray Phillips (drums). "Never Turn Your Back On A Friend" is Budgie's third album, released in 1973. The album is notable for its inclusion of "Breadfan," one of the band's most well-known song.
