513 - Bathory Through Blood by Thunder 1991

Bathory were a highly influential Swedish heavy metal band, regarded as one of the forefathers of black metal and founder of viking metal. The band's name is taken from the infamous "blood countess," Elizabeth Báthory. Ace Thomas "Quorthon" Forsberg was the founder and song writer, he is credited with largely helping in the creation of Black Metal, and evolving it from its thrash origins into what is identified as black metal today, and also creating the genre Viking Metal, the latter having a more evolved and operatic style. He composed the music and wrote the lyrics on all of Bathory's albums. He was found dead in his apartment on 7 June 2004, apparently from heart fail. "Twilight of the Gods" is the sixth album by Bathory. It continues the exploration of the newly created Viking metal style, and also displays a heavy classical influence. The superb "Through Blood by Thunder" is introduced by yet another elegant guitar melody and a dramatic spoken-word section.
