1695 - Basca Ándate 1997

In 1997, Basca released their first album, Hijos de… (Sons of…). They promoted it with a national tour, highlighting their show at the Concha Acústica, known as the ‘temple of rock’ (in Quito), which drew hundreds of eager fans. It was on that day that the band members realized their efforts were paying off and that it was no longer just a dream. The song "Ándate", by the Ecuadorian heavy rock band Basca, is a harsh social critique of prejudice, the fear of what others might say, and the double standards of a conservative society that judges based on appearances.
